Who Are Hamilton Capital Partners?

Hamilton Capital Partners is a fund management business authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority. Established and headquartered in Glasgow.

Hamilton Portfolio Limited (HPL) was founded 15 years ago in 1999 by John Boyle and Andrew Lapping (see biogs) after John’s successful sale of Direct Holidays to Airtours plc.

It was initially established as a family wealth office with two principal areas of activity, being venture & private equity capital and property investment.

Among the highlights in the private equity arena were the investing, backing and selling of BDL Express Hotels to Somerston Hotels, CV Villas to Kuoni and GlobalExpense to Concur. HPL also backed and listed Monstermob, SRT, Legend Communications and Netplay on AIM.

As a natural transition from its private status, Hamilton Capital Partners (HCP) was established in 2009 as an FCA authorised investment fund, principally involved in investing and managing property, particularly in Scotland and the north of England.

In 2009, just before the formation of HCP, Stephen Kelly joined the team (see biog). Stephen established Hamilton Kelly Investment Partnership (HKIP), a sister company to HCP, specifically as an asset management company. HKIP currently has 15 properties to a value of £100m under active management. For more information, please see website – www.hkip.co.uk.

Also in 2009, Sarah-Jane Moffat, a qualified accountant, joined to support the team (see our Meet the Team page for more information).
